{Party Time} Mickey Mouse Club House

Another delightful afternoon for a sweet one year old. It's fun reworking a theme thats been around for a while. Mickey Mouse has such a great colour palate to work with. Red, yellow and black always looks so striking together. For this party we went more with the Mickey Mouse Club House than just straight Mickey Mouse.

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful garden to work in which made a lovely backdrop for the party. It also meant there was plenty of room for the children to run around and play.

Guests got to snack on candy and popcorn while they played games in the garden and decorated cupcakes. The cupcake decorating station and the paint a truck area were very popular and kept everyone entertained. Guests also got to choose their treats for the balloon stuffing (although its hard to keep them from popping them straight away!).

One of our signature photo booths was available for guest. The end result makes such a great take home treat and its a fun activity to keep everyone entertained throughout the party.

{Party Time} Rosa's Kitchen

We love working on small intimate parties! We have done a cooking party before which was a lot of fun but this one was a totally different colour scheme and style. This was Rosa's Kitchen done with black and white stripes along with a splash of pink and touches of floral. It was set up for eight 7 year old girls.

Each guest got their own custom apron to wear for the duration of the party and to take home with them. For the aprons we used black and white stripe fabric with different florals for the accents. They turned out perfectly!

If you saw our previous blog post you will know we have a little obsession at the moment with custom cake toppers - it worked especially well for this theme. This cake is made by Sisslos Cakes and the topper by Chocolate Fish. We loved the finished looked. The gold was stunning against the black.

This stylish Happy Birthday cut out banner was a subtle detail that worked really well with the frilly pink tulle.

You can never go wrong with flowers and this bright bunch gave the table a nice burst of colour. It wasn't our usual set up as the guest activities involved making their own dinner so they needed space to do that! Guests made their own chef hats as they waited for the others to arrive. That was followed by pizza making, cake decorating and sundae making.

The cake decorating was a lot of fun. Each child had their own mini cake (15cm) that they had to decorate. First they cut out their names and shapes from fondant and then they iced their cakes with chocolate butter cream and placed their fondant cut outs on top. The cakes went into those cute personalised cake boxes ready to take home and share with the family.

These little baskets are perfect for little girls. We popped their (icing covered) aprons in the baskets for them to take home with them. They all looked very sweet departing with their cake box and basket!

{New & Exciting} Cake Toppers

As you probably already know we love to customize things here at Chocolate Fish! We are really into these new cake toppers. They are so versatile and can be customized for any event, theme or colour scheme. Its enough to jazz up any cake and provide a sense of occasion.

{Party Time} Carnival!

We are totally in love with this theme! It was a blast working on it. It's so much fun to do something we haven't done before. This was a Carnival/Mardi Gras themed party for an 8 year old boy. Packed full of colour & fun - it really was Carnival time!

The set up was full of bright vibrant colours with a focus on green and a bit of sparkle thrown in to add some glitz.

The guests snacked on popcorn and candy floss before dinner of hotdogs and chips was served.

Our fab photo booth was a hit (as always!). We loved how all the bright colours come together in the photo booth back drop. The framed photos from the photo booth make a great take home gift.
